Answer a finding
When a finding is routed to your post, you answer it with why it happened and what will be done. Somebody else then decides on your plan.
You will hear about a new finding under Assigned to me — on the bell, on Today, and by email if you have it switched on. It is also in Findings › To act on.
Write the plan
Section titled “Write the plan”Open the finding. The top shows what was found, its grade, its references and its dates — Plan due and Close by.
-
Why it happened.
- Root cause — pick one, from your airline’s list (Category › cause).
- Contributing — optional; pick any that added to it.
- What happened, and why — in your own words.
If your airline has turned AI help on, Suggest a cause proposes up to three causes from your own list, each with a sentence. Picking one only fills the field.
-
What will be done. Select Add an action for each one:
- Kind — the kinds your grade requires, for example Correction, Corrective action or Preventive action.
- What will be done.
- Owned by — the post that will do it. Leave it blank for your own post.
- Due — the date it will be done by.
-
Select Submit the plan.
The finding moves to Plan submitted, and a holder of Verify and close findings is told.
If the plan is returned
Section titled “If the plan is returned”The finding moves to Returned, with What needs changing written on it. You are told under Assigned to me. Change the plan and submit it again.
Once the plan is accepted
Section titled “Once the plan is accepted”Each action’s owner carries it out and marks it done, with evidence. See Carry out a corrective action.

| Nobody is routed to answer it yet. | A holder of Verify and close findings needs to route it to a post. |
| Only somebody holding the post it is routed to, with Respond to findings, may answer it. | It is routed to a different post — or your job does not include responding. |
| The plan can only be written while the finding is open or returned. | It has already been submitted, accepted or closed. |
