Checklists
A checklist is drafted from the paragraphs it tests, so every question carries its reference. Published versions are frozen; the next version starts as a copy.
Build a checklist
Section titled “Build a checklist”Open Audits › Checklists and select Build a checklist.
-
What it is for — its code, title and the kind of audit it serves.
-
The areas it covers — one or several.
-
The rules it drafts questions from. Pick paragraphs from the regulation library and select Draft the questions. Each paragraph becomes one question, with its reference and guidance filled in. Reword any of them, or Reword in the full editor.
-
Which areas each question is asked of — a question can apply to some areas and not others.
-
Publish — select Publish version.
An audit planned with a multi-area checklist covers all its areas. A finding raised from a question asked of one area goes to that area.
Import from a spreadsheet
Section titled “Import from a spreadsheet”Prefer to write questions in Excel? Use the import on the Checklists page and download the template. Its reference columns are dropdowns, so references are picked rather than typed. Every row is previewed before anything is saved, and a row citing a paragraph that is not in force is refused.
Versions
Section titled “Versions”- There is one draft at a time.
- A published version is frozen. To change it, select Start the next version — it begins as a copy.
- An audit uses the version that was published when it was prepared. A new version never changes an audit already prepared.
Where the references come from
Section titled “Where the references come from”References come from the Regulations library, which your administrators maintain. Once a checklist is published, its questions appear on each paragraph’s page under Audit history, and if the authority amends a paragraph a published question cites, you are told.
