Verify a corrective action

Actions waiting for you are in Corrective actions › To verify, and on Today.

1. Open the action and read What was done and its Evidence.

2. Under Is it effective?, choose the Verdict:

   • Effective — it worked.
   • Not effective — it did not; the finding goes back for a new action.

3. Under How you checked, say what you looked at — a record sampled, a visit, a conversation. The next person to read this will want to know.

4. Save.

When every action on a finding is verified effective, the finding shows Ready to close — see Decide, close and reopen.

Why you might not be allowed

You had a hand in this finding’s answer — its plan, an action or evidence — so somebody else verifies it.

Wingcert reads this from the finding’s history, not from your job. Holding every permission does not change it.

Effective first time

Corrective actions that are verified effective on the first attempt are counted on the Corrective actions page and in Findings › Insights. It is one of the best measures of whether your answers fix the cause rather than the symptom.
