Add a document
A document's record is its identity — "the MOE" — which outlives every revision of it. Set it up once, carefully.
Open Documents and select New document.
What it is
Section titled “What it is”| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Document number | What people call it out loud — MOE, OM-A, QP-07. Unique across the library. |
| Title | Its full name. |
| Kind | Manual, Procedure or Form are written in Wingcert. Held document is an uploaded file. |
| Manual type | Decides whether the authority approves it, accepts it, or never sees it. This changes what approval and temporary revisions require. |
The file
Section titled “The file”Only for a held document: choose the File. It becomes revision 1, as a draft, until somebody issues it. For the three written kinds, this is ignored — you write the content next.
Where it sits
Section titled “Where it sits”| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Shelf | Where it appears in the library. |
| Owned by | A job, not a person — so the owner is still right after somebody leaves. |
| Department / Station | Where it applies. |
| Aircraft type | For a document held against a fleet, such as an OM-B or an AMP. |
| Review every | In months. A manual nobody has reviewed for three years is a finding on its own, so the date is kept. |
Written against
Section titled “Written against”Tick the regulations the document is written against. Naming an instrument here turns on its compliance cross-reference and lets it report which paragraphs nothing addresses.
Save, then write the first revision — or, for a held document, submit it for approval.
Retiring a document
Section titled “Retiring a document”On the document’s page, Details › Retire takes a document out of use. Every revision stays readable. Put back into use reverses it.
