Use an authenticator app

For signing in where your fingerprint cannot reach. The codes come from your phone, work anywhere, and never touch email.

Any standard authenticator app works — for example Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or the one built into your password manager.

You can choose Use an authenticator app when you first set up from the invitation, or add one later from your account (Add an authenticator app).

  1. Open your authenticator app and scan this. Point the app at the QR code on screen.

  2. Cannot scan it? Type this key in instead. Enter the key shown under the QR code into your app by hand.

  3. Enter the six digits it shows under Code from your app, then select Confirm.

You will see Authenticator app added.

If you see That code did not match. Check your phone is showing the current one., wait for the next code to appear and enter that one. Codes change every 30 seconds.

  1. On the sign-in page, type your Work email and select Continue.

  2. Open your authenticator app and type the current six digits into Sign-in code.

  3. Select Sign in.

The same box accepts the code from your app or the code Wingcert emails you — whichever reaches you first. The app is always first.

On your account page, under Signing in from a remote desktop, select Remove beside the app.
