Auditors
Only authorised auditors conduct audits — and they are qualified, not appointed. Each auditor is authorised for named areas and a period, and Wingcert watches their currency.
Becoming an auditor
Section titled “Becoming an auditor”Open Audits › Auditors and select Nominate an auditor.
-
Nominate the person for the areas they will audit. Their own areas are refused — nobody audits where they work. Nobody may nominate themselves.
-
Training against the courses your airline requires.
-
Audits as a trainee in each area. These are counted from real audit teams; audits done before Wingcert can be entered once, with their report.
-
Assessment by a lead auditor against your airline’s criteria — Record the assessment.
-
Authorisation — Authorise, by somebody holding Close out completed audits who did not do the assessment, for named areas and a period.
While this is in progress, the nominee shows as In training in the register. Once authorised, they audit only their areas.
Staying current
Section titled “Staying current”Each auditor’s page shows what keeps them current:
| Item | What it tracks |
|---|---|
| Authorisation | Valid until a date. |
| Recurrent training | When it is next due. |
| Evaluation by a lead | When it is next due. |
| Audits in area | Recent audits in each authorised area. |
When any of them falls due within 30 days, the auditor and whoever nominated them are told, once. If one lapses, the authorisation is suspended that day, and they are told. A suspended auditor cannot be added to a team or record answers.
Authorisations made before this process existed are never limited or suspended by it.
Authorisation states
Section titled “Authorisation states”Only training and active auditors can act. Your own authorisations also show on Today.
