Plan and prepare an audit

Planning is four steps and nothing is saved until the last. Preparing fixes the team and the checklist version, so what the audit asks cannot change underneath it.

Open Audits › Audits and select Plan an audit.

  1. Which audit. Audits due on the programme come first, marked when they are past their month or due date. Or choose one that is not on the programme and pick the reason from the list.

  2. Scope and objectives. Choose the areas (one or several) or a supplier, what the audit sets out to establish, and the checklist it asks. Checklists that cover the areas you chose are marked. Select Show what to consider to see, for that area: findings still open, findings in the last 12 months, fixes verified not effective, and when it was last audited.

  3. When. Pick the week of fieldwork. Each week shows how many other audits are already in fieldwork then. A suggested length comes from the size of the checklist.

  4. Check. Read it through and select Plan the audit.

The audit is now Planned.

On the audit’s page, under The team:

Role Who
Lead auditor An auditor authorised to lead, for these areas.
Auditors Authorised auditors. An auditor still in training joins as a trainee.
Observers Anybody independent of the area. They record nothing.

Wingcert refuses anybody who is not independent: nobody audits a department they belong to, or one above or beneath it, read from their record and every job they hold. For a supplier audit, nobody holding the supplier’s owner post may audit it.

Under The plan, confirm the Scope, Checklist, Station and Fieldwork from date, then select Mark prepared.

Preparing fixes the checklist version the audit will ask. If somebody publishes a new version tomorrow, this audit is not affected.
